1978 I returned to San Francisco after a nine month trip through India and Europe. Two weeks later Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone we’re tragically murdered. I was shocked and outraged. I had always supported the gay community so it was only natural that I would visited the Castro neighborhood with my camera to see what was going on. I became enthralled by the cultural revolution that was exploding all around and kept going back. When I was in New York City I also photographed on Christopher Street and Fire Island. In time some of my images were featured in the gay magazines the Advocate, the Bay Area Reporter and Gai Head Pai in France. In 2023 a selection of 128 images were published in the book “Castro to Christopher, Gay Streets of America, 1979—1986.”
